God made this world and everything in it. And out of everything that God made, human beings are the most important. Only humans are made in the image of God. Only humans are given the task of ruling this world under God.
Made in the image of our creator not only means we’re to rule this world under God, but that, like our God, we’re built to be in relationship. God is Father, Son and Spirit. He is one God and there is perfect relationship within the God-head.
God has made us to be like him. We’re built to be in relationship. Relationship, firstly with him, and secondly with each other. He’s hard wired each of us with the desire to know others and be known by others. To love others and to be loved by others. This is especially true in the context of the family.
The family unit is God’s good idea. Families come in different shapes and sizes but each significant family relationship is a gift from God. Children are to be loved and nurtured by parents, grandparents and siblings in the family context. This is God’s good design.
This unit comes complete with a picture book and ten lessons. The ten lessons are used twice over a two year period. There are two resource files full of crafts and stories that can be used to create a scrapbook for each child, one for each year. These scrapbooks, illustrated by the children, will become a lasting reminder for each child of what they have learnt.
