Passages: Revelation 1-11, 21
Big Idea: Jesus is the one to be worshiped because the past, the present and the future are in hands.
Eight lessons on the book of Revelation.
Note: These lessons are yet to be upgraded to the new Kidswise format. Each lesson contains two parts: K-2 is for children aged 5-7 and 3-5 is for children ages 8-11.
John is then instructed to write seven letters to the seven churches from Jesus. Seven being a perfect complete number indicates that these letters are the complete message Jesus wants to give to his church. These letters pick up themes such as... guarding against false teaching and holding tightly to the truth, patient perseverance in the midst of persecution, living a godly life distinct from the world around them, not living a compromised, domesticated Christian life... There are words of encouragement and the promise of blessing – there are words of rebuke and judgements issued.
In chapter 4 to 11 we glimpse the future... people from tribe, nation and tongue (purchased by the blood of the lamb) all worshipping the lamb who is now enthroned in heaven. And one day (Revelation 21) God will come down and live with his holy people and the sin that separated and destroyed, will be no more. And the effects of sin... crying, pain and death will be no more. All praise to the lamb who sits on the throne!
The unit comes complete with stories, pictures, suggested songs/memory verses, games, drama activities, crafts, large and small group activities. A resource pack full of crafts and worksheets is also included.
