Genesis explores the beginning of everything - everything except God. Humanity grew and organised itself, but not even the collective might of humanity in all its creativity and strength could fix the problem of the heart. Sin cannot be fixed by human effort. Genesis looks forward to the time when God himself would come to earth and, as a man, take on our sin and punishment, and set us free.
