Passages: Luke 9-12
Big Idea: Following Jesus together whatever the cost.
Nine lessons on Luke chapters 9 to 12.
Note: These lessons are yet to be upgraded to the new Kidswise format. Each lesson contains two parts: K-2 is for children aged 5-7 and 3-5 is for children ages 8-11.
Chapters 9 to 12 look at what it means to be a true follower of Christ. Disciples are in the business of making disciples - calling others to follow Jesus, as they have dropped everything to follow him. But following Jesus will always come at a cost. People reject Jesus, and so people will reject his followers.
True disciples will not put limits on their love for others. They will have the heart of God when it comes to those they like and those they don’t like. They will fear God more than they fear man and know that what’s in their hearts matters to their Father in Heaven. They will set their hearts on storing riches in heaven rather than riches on earth. True disciples will expect life to be more difficult, but the cost will always be seen in the light of the big picture. It’s worth it.
